Isabelle Barter, Founder
Isabelle Barter, founder and owner of Stronger Human, is on a mission to help clients and students discover what is possible. Isabelle (ever curious and always learning) is a Z-Health® Practitioner, StrongFirst® Level 1 Kettlebell Instructor, Yoga Tune Up® Teacher, E-RYT 200, Functional Range Conditioning® Mobility Specialist (FRCms), and is FMS Certified.
Isabelle’s teaching, coaching, and personal practice are ever evolving, and are centered around exploration, play, dispelling myths, and discovering more effortless and efficient ways of moving.
Her continuing education in the field of neurology for sports performance has lead her to believe that everyone is inherently strong and capable of resilience, everyone is already an athlete, we were all born ready to move! Some of us just need a little help to fully unlock our movement potential or get through roadblocks that have built up from injury, trauma, or setbacks along the way.
Isabelle helps clients develop physical strength built upon a solid foundation of recovery and restorative practices to allow for long term, sustainable training. She is committed to conscientious ways of moving that value control and functional application to daily life over aesthetics and unquestioned dogma.
Tami’s interest in movement along with her desire to help people thrive holistically drew her to study and obtain certifications in Massage Therapy, Yoga, Pilates (mat and equipment) and corrective exercise. She started a career as a massage therapist in 2000 and has been teaching yoga and Pilates since 2006.
Tami’s fondness of movement and anatomy started in a college Kinesiology class in 1998 where she learned about the study of movement through the lens of yoga poses (asana). Tami started practicing yoga and mindfulness meditation and became deeply curious about how the whole person interconnected — body, mind, relationships, soul, spirit, life story, etc.
Tami has a ceaseless interest in the science, art and philosophy of movement as it relates to yoga and Pilates as well as other movement methods and studies. She leaves room personally and professionally to keep learning and evolving. Tami designs her classes and sessions with clients to explore movement in a way that is enjoyable, supportive and meaningful. She also very much values what yoga and mindful movement allow us to discover about ourselves — body, mind, heart, soul, the world around us, and how it all connects.
Two specific areas of interest that Tami works with directly are chronic pain and eating disorders for which she has obtained specialty training and certifications in yoga for these populations.
In addition to her work, she enjoys spending time with family, her wonderful husband, their three rescue dogs, Kona, Nala and Priya and kitty, Chase. She is also a lover of animals and is an advocate and activist for their well-being.
